CHANGE NIGERIA

THE CHANGE WE SEEK.
According to the Advanced English Dictionary, two of the definitions of change put up were a pleasant difference and a result of alteration or modification. But according to this context, the change I'm referring to is making a lasting difference which is actually pleasant against all odds. It becomes a necessity if we want a better Nigeria. This change we're talking about creates a breathing space for everyone; the top officials and the masses inclusive. The change we have been looking for is an embodiment of truth which erases corruption and creates a sincere you. It is a solid evidence of our beauty through embracing our rich culture. This change is creating unity and cordiality, contrary to the enmity we have. This embodiment of truth lies within you. Simply put, the embodiment of truth is what I term the change. It washes away all forms of corruption and vices. It is the good side of you that needs to be free. But you see sometimes we tend to suppress this good part of us and that is why we keep deteriorating, we kill the good will in us, we kill the change in us and project falsehood. In us lies the good and the bad and this is where choice sets in. In actual fact the change we seek is you.
If you want a change in Nigeria, it starts with you. Nelson Mandela was black like me and you. He was black like us but he had a dream to make a change and he started with himself. Barrack Obama said "We are the change we seek, we are all we need; we are all we've been waiting for." And our much cherished Pastor Chris Oyakhilome said "No one will build Nigeria for us, Nigeria will be built by Nigerians.' The change we seek lies on the inside of us. It's just like a lit up candle; if you put it under a table, how does it brighten the dark? For the candle to brighten the dark, it has to brought out and placed on a table or a stand. So, if we want to be the light for people to see, we have to come out of our shell. These leaders I mentioned were once citizens like you and I but what made the difference was the courage they had to bring out what they had on the inside.
Though making a change in our society may cost you a lot, definitely you'll have critics but cast your mind off them. Nelson was imprisoned for not just two years, not three years; not even ten years but for twenty-seven good years all in a search for freedom which he did achieve in the end. Although there will be stumbling blocks on your way, don't relent. Just believe you can do it. Don't turn your head sideways if not all you'll find around you will be discouragement. Visualize your goal and keep looking at it like you're stretching your hand to get it, you'll find out that even that goal you're aiming at will start magnetizing you to it so long as you remain focused. And after all has been said and done you'll sit back and discover the struggles were worth it after all. And when you turn around, you'll find people hailing you and bearing you shoulder high.
But today's planning determines tomorrow's success and since you've got all you need on the inside of you, just bring it out. Believe in yourself then you'll believe me when I say you'll get there. After all Goodluck Jonathan completes it all when he said "If I can get here, You can get here!" THAT CHANGE IS YOU.

A MUST READ

                                      POSSIBLE IMPOSSIBILIITIES.
                                                    "I can't!"
                                                    "Oh yes you can!"
                                                   "I said I can't. I know I can't!"
"You know what; I've chosen you to do it and no one else"
"Oh please! I won't do it right!"
"It's gonna come out during my exhibition."
The work does come out in the exhibition and it steals the show.
"I thought you said you couldn't do it?"
"Sincerely, when you persisted, something in me just said but it's nothing Jane and I knew I could do it."
Her manager placed a hand on her and said "There are two sides to these things. Either you believe in yourself or someone else believes in you."
There's nothing impossible till you've laid your hands on it. In fact in actual sense, there's nothing you can't do. It's very wrong to say "I can't and if you keep on saying that, the greatest opportunity in a lifetime would just pass you by because you've admitted it's too tasky for you and you just can't take the challenge. If you don't pick up that challenge then you’ve just proven yourself to be a coward. Do whatever you can do bearing in mind that whatever you’re doing is what doing well. So don’t let fear kill you and turn you into something you’re not. If you don’t know how to believe in yourself then forget about greatness because now, are days when people have become self reliant and have lost confidence in others and so you have to make them believe that you can do it. That will only be possible when you believe in yourself.
Being great starts from within you. If you believe you’re great inside of you then your greatness will look for every opportunity to come out and that is why even in the word “impossible” lies the word “possible”. The ‘im’ in ‘impossible’ is dependent on you. If you want it, then add it, that’s just how the mechanism works. So from now on, start saying “I can!” “Oh yes I can!” and don’t just say the word, mean it! Insist on it! Believe it! And you’ll find yourself doing what you had once tagged “impossible”.
After reading this, it’s left to you to decide if you want to keep adding the prefix ‘im’ to the ‘possibility’ you have or not. Through that you’ll get to discover if you’ll say in the end,
“Oh yes! I did it!” I believe in you, believe you can make things possible and believe in yourself too.

A BROTHER'S LOVE

CHAPTER 3
It was cold and raining and Mother had pneumonia. It was going to take her on anytime. She raised her collar and drew her coat tighter slotting her hands into her pockets. She was shivering.
                          *                                                    *                                                *
         "Lade! Lade!! My God!!!"
Dad was well beyond tears. He quickly lifted her up, carried her into the car and zoomed off.
                           *                                                    *                                                *
    " Somebody! please help me!"
The nurse rushed out to assist Dad. Lade was taken to the emergency unit. Dad sat in the lobby for close to three hours
"Mr Lamiji Tellar, can I see you in my office now?"
Dad stood up, agitated and followed after the Doctor.
    "Please have a seat."
" Okay so what's wrong with my baby doc?"
"Well sir,you have to be a man in situations like this and dedicate everything to making her feel as norrmal as possible."
  "What are you saying Doctor?"
"what i'm sayin in essence is that..." He adjusted in his seat, paused and sighed."Your daughter has suffered memory loss and some other brain problems that may affect some parts of her body

Water Baptism at times could be interesting and at other times....boring...either way what makes it fun for me is having my pals make fun of me when I'm deeped into the water...did i say deep?...that word sounds mild,I'll use the word 'emassed" into the water...lol,couldn't explain it...aside my friends making fun of  me,it  made me realise I'm not who I used to be...Now,i'm dead to sin and born to Christ...Sometimes I just wonder if I could keep up with this cos my flesh is so responsive to the things around me....I could tell God I'm sorry and the next minute be comitting another sin...did i spell 'comitting' very well?...either way,u understand what I mean don't you?...I just wonder how God's love could be so strong as to cleanse and totally forgive my sins...your sins...and our sins....but He's not human,he does everything best...no one can do it better than He does and I've found no greater joy else where than in being his friend...He's the best thing that has ever happened to me...Sometyms I get shy and feel awkward talking about God and his kingdom cos it just seems so archaic but whatever people may see it as,I love God and that's what matters...

LOVE'S GRACE

The first day I saw your face
was the day I found myself
knowing how these things work
marvels me
my heart melted like snow
and yours got twice stronger
the grasses overtime grew greener
as our love waxed stronger with zest
Burt, a momentary seizure and you were gone
like a butterfly in harmattan
on your tomb,amidst the tears
I could still scribble our silent wishes
that you'll always be with me

MY LIFE...MY FRIEND

Have you ever felt like me before...no...i doubt it. there are times when you wanna say something and there's this fight within you, shud i say it?...shud i not say it?...oh my gosh it's happening again.I wanna talk about something but i end up writing something else. This is about the third time i'm writing this post.I had clicked on new post with the intention of writing something else but look what I got...just know this wasn't what i intended...but what i wanted to write lies deep inside of me..I just need to let it out or get someone to help me...now that's my problem...i never get anyone to help cos i never let it out...hmph...I hate to talk about myself...I really should just go back to writing ma poems and stories...Life could unfold in different ways to you ,it could appear like a friend, happy family...great job...good friends...comfort...then u'd have wished for nothing better. But when it turns upside down,it just makes it difficult for you standing the right way up.....Life's just like friends,u smile together,at times, she makes you frown and cry and sad...she gives you hope and makes you smile and makes you feel there are no worries...at other times, she could just leave you confused and makes u wanna think outside the box while the answer lies in the box, she could make you wanna give in to pressure but u just learn to stand your ground...but just be who you are no matter how close you guys are and how you can't do without her and she without you...and how together u guys make things work..just be who you are...that's exactly who life is-your friend...

MY VILLAGE CHILDREN

I used to sit at the balcony
of the old one storey
every morning
and watch the little boys
hurriedly going to check their traps,
half naked
while the chickened ones offered to do the cooking
the little girls, their rappers glued to their bodies
If it loosened one bit
they dropped their brooms to tie it
eyeing the boys around
who weren't even looking their way
as if they had something worth covering
other than two tiny stones on their chest
and a flat behind  some forced to shake
with the aid of the beads around their waist
as they held on to their mother's hand
on the way to the market
"Ta! ogini!"
they would scream at any boy who dared look their way
The boys always ran away,giggling
and saying one to another
"I will deal with those pompous girls!"
Then I laughed...
